Curtin University is offering scholarships to international students for pursuing an undergraduate degree in computing science, applied information technology or related computing fields. Applicants must be commencing the first semester of their first undergraduate degree at Curtin University in semester 1, 2014. Five scholarships are offered for three years. The scholarship consists of a total fixed value of $5,000 to assist with costs associated with studying and will be awarded to students over the period of 3 years.

Scholarship Description: Curtin UniversityThe Information Systems Scholarship Program has been developed to encourage and reward students interested in computing science, applied information technology or related computing fields who have demonstrated academic potential and a strong understanding of their chosen course of study.

Duration of award(s): Scholarship is offered for three years.

What does it cover? The scholarship consists of a total fixed value of $5,000 to assist with costs associated with studying and will be awarded to students over the period of 3 years as follows: (based on full time study load of 100 credit points each semester)
-$1,000 per semester in year 1
-$750 per semester in year 2
-$750 per semester in year 3
Payments occur post census date each semester. Payments will be made approximately mid-end April and September each year.

Selection Criteria: The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of merit. Applications will be assessed by a selection panel using the following criteria:
-Demonstrated a strong understanding of chosen course of study through the ‘Innovation Statement’
-Academic merit
-Responses to questions in application
-Confirmation of Enrollment (COE) into an eligible undergraduate business school degree at Curtin University in 2014.

Notification: All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application via email in mid-January.

Merit, Entry and Faculty Scholarships at University of Sydney in Australia, 2014

University of Sydney is offering merit, entry and faculty scholarships for international students for pursuing undergraduate degree, plus an optional honours year in 2014. Merit Scholarships are awarded for the normal full time duration of your undergraduate degree, plus an optional honours year. Entry Scholarships are for one year only. Applicants must be completing your secondary studies in 2013 and will receive an ATAR or equivalent. Total offer is of $6000 per year. International Students can apply for these scholarships. The application deadline is 2nd October 2013.

Eligibility:  The University of Sydney Merit, Entry and Faculty Scholarships are awarded based on a combination of school examination results, Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) and other achievements (leadership, creativity, self-motivation, communication skills etc).
Some important eligibility requirements are:
-You must be completing your secondary studies in 2013 and will receive an ATAR or equivalent.
-You must be applying through UAC to study at the University of Sydney in 2014 – International and NZ students applying for admission through UAC are eligible to apply for these scholarships.
-You can only submit one application.
-If you wish to study at Sydney College of the Arts or the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, you must achieve an ATAR of at least 90 and be amongst the top 5% of applicants, assessed by your portfolio or performance.
-The Faculty you nominate on your application will be the only Faculty to consider your application. A scholarship offer is made on behalf of that -Faculty, allowing you to pursue any degree for which you are eligible within that Faculty. As such you must choose your Faculty carefully.
For combined degrees you still only nominate one Faculty; the UAC guide will inform you on the appropriate Faculty.

Institute for Molecular Bioscience is offering scholarship for Australians and international students in Australia. Honours Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit, research potential and personal attributes, such as leadership and community service. Applicant must be undertaking an Honours project full-time within the IMB in 2014 under the primary supervision of an IMB researcher. Total offer is for one academic year and covers AUD$2, 500. The Australian Government is providing nursing scholarships for student nurses who show a demonstrated commitment to aged care to undertake undergraduate studies at an Australian tertiary institute leading to a qualification to practice as a registered nurse in Australia. Students must be currently enrolled, or intending to enroll in an undergraduate or graduate entry, accredited, pre-registration (entry to practice) nursing course at an Australian university. The scheme provides financial assistance in the form of a scholarship worth up to a total of $10,000 per year for three years full time study ($30,000 in total), or $5,000 per year for up to six years part time study ($30,000). Application should be submitted till 30th August 2013.
